It is recommended by the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 that electrical safety testing (PAT) and visual inspection of all mains-powered electrical portable appliances and associated cables, chargers, transformers and plugs should take place at appropriate intervals. Items tested should carry the appropriate test labels to identify those that may not have been tested and the next test date.
