The Alarm Hub was founded in 2017 by Simon McGeorge and Billy Lucken, who saw a clear gap in the fire protection industry for high-level expertise paired with genuine, reliable service. With over 30 years of combined experience, they had spent a decade working side by side commissioning on a wide variety of fire systems seeing them through from initial design to final commissioning—and the gap... the non-existent fire risk assessment.

Throughout their careers, Simon and Billy repeatedly encountered the same problem, companies being let down by subpar service providers or falling short of compliance with fire safety regulations. This recurring frustration became the driving force behind their mission and the foundation of The Alarm Hub’s vision: “To set a new benchmark for excellence in the fire protection industry—raising standards, promoting best practices, and ultimately saving lives.”

Simon McGeorge has spent nearly two decades at the forefront of fire safety in the UK, with over 19 years of hands-on experience in the fire protection industry. As a dedicated Member of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM), he remains actively engaged in the professional fire safety community, consistently striving to exceed both client expectations and regulatory standards.

With over 15 years of experience in the fire and security industry, Billy Lucken brings a depth of technical expertise and practical knowledge that is central to The Alarm Hub’s reputation for excellence. His background in electrical engineering, combined with his hands-on experience with complex fire detection systems, makes him a key driving force behind the company’s technical delivery.

Billy has played a pivotal role in the design, installation, and commissioning of some of the largest and most sophisticated fire detection systems in the UK. His meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and dedication to doing the job right have earned him the trust of clients across a wide range of sectors, including finance, healthcare, commercial, and critical infrastructure.
Since co-founding The Alarm Hub, Billy has continued to push the boundaries of his professional development. During his tenure, he has attained several key industry qualifications, including FireQual Level 3 Advanced Awards in Design, Installation, Commissioning, and Service & Maintenance, BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations). As well as the V03C CFPA Europe Diploma in Fire Prevention - Technical Cycle. These certifications complement his extensive field experience and allow him to deliver technically robust, regulation-compliant solutions that meet the highest safety standards.
As the lead for all technical operations at The Alarm Hub, Billy is responsible for overseeing system commissioning, troubleshooting, network design, and integration of fire protection technologies. He ensures every project is delivered with precision, from high-rise commercial buildings to complex, multi-site installations.
